Most of the time, turkey burgers run on the savory side. These sweet burgers are a nice change to the traditional herbs and seasonings. Add homemade, or unsweetened apple sauce as an alternative topping.
1 pound(s) Free range or organic ground turkey or chicken
1apple (will peel and shred)
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon(s) unrefined sea salt
1 tablespoon(s) fresh chopped parsley
1 tablespoon(s) organic coconut oil
1 cup(s) unsweetened apple sauce (optional)

Apple Spice Turkey Burgers Directions
Peel and shred the apple, either finely chop with a knife, or in the food processor on the shredding blade. Place a paper towel over the apple to squeeze out the excess water.
Mix together all the ingredients until well incorporated. Form into 3-4 even, tightly packed balls (depending on the size you want your pattie). Note: they may seem a little wet from the apple, but the moisture will cook off.
Heat coconut oil in stainless steel, or cast-iron skillet, until melted on medium-high heat, or use a non-stick (not Teflon) griddle. Sear burgers on one side, then flip after 1-2 minutes and sear on the other side for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking for about 15 minutes, or until they are no longer pink in the middle.
