Apple Spice Turkey Burgers

Apple Spice Turkey Burgers

Most of the time, turkey burgers run on the savory side. These sweet burgers are a nice change to the traditional herbs and seasonings. Add homemade, or unsweetened apple sauce as an alternative topping.

Apple Spice Turkey Burgers Directions

    1. Peel and shred the apple, either finely chop with a knife, or in the food processor on the shredding blade. Place a paper towel over the apple to squeeze out the excess water.
    2. Mix together all the ingredients until well incorporated. Form into 3-4 even, tightly packed balls (depending on the size you want your pattie). Note: they may seem a little wet from the apple, but the moisture will cook off.
    3. Heat coconut oil in stainless steel, or cast-iron skillet,  until melted on medium-high heat, or use a non-stick (not Teflon) griddle. Sear burgers on one side, then flip after 1-2 minutes and sear on the other side for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking for about 15 minutes, or until they are no longer pink in the middle.
    4. Top with unsweetened homemade, or unsweetened apple sauce. Enjoy with Golden Beet with Apple Mash, or Cucumber Salad.
